Thank you Madrone Art Bar, the city of San Francisco, all the fans of 80s music and our friends. Usually on a rainy night in SF it can be slow, but Friday night was crackin’ for our 80s party. If you thought our Prince and MJ parties get packed, watch out – cause That 80s Show is getting close! The highlight of the night, everyone going crazy to Run DMC’s It’s Tricky. With the cold weather I expected a slow night but it ended up being one of our best turnouts for Chicago. Prince and MJ fans in the Midwest got heart! Anyone that stands in line in below freezing weather waiting to get into a packed Prince and Michael party has my respect. Thank you Beauty Bar, the city of Chicago, Marcus & Ed, and all the fans and friends that came out to support. Photos from the event can be viewed here. How do you know when you’ve over-promoted? When the venue hits capacity at 9:30pm and people have to wait in line for 30-45 minutes. Thank you to all that came out and thank you to all that were patient. It was a wonderful night. Photos from the party can be viewed here.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Prince and MJ monthly residency at Madrone Art Bar in San Francisco we have made a change. The party will now begin an hour earlier. Every 1st Sat of the month we will begin at 8pm, $5 at the door.

If you can’t find street parking here’s some info on parking lots in the area. The best deal is at the Shell Gas Station one block away at Divisadero & Oak. $6 flat rate parking from 7pm – 3am. The 3 parking lots are – Shell Gas Station on corner of Oak & Divisadero, Behind Laundromat on corner of Oak & Divisadero, Panhandle Parking on Baker between Fell & Oak.

About the interviewer
Dave Paul began his music career in 1984, starting as a mobile dj and evolving into a prominent college radio dj, club dj, and remixer in San Francisco. In 1991 he launched the now legendary publication The Bomb Hip-Hop Magazine and in 1996 Paul transformed the magazine into a record label. The company was named “one of the fifteen independent labels that matter” according to Rolling Stone and the labels Return of the DJ series was ranked by Spin Magazine as #25 in their 90 Greatest Albums of the 90′s list. Dave Paul has appeared on the front cover of Billboard magazine, and is featured in the motion picture Scratch. Mr. Paul has dj’ed throughout the US, toured Europe and the UK, released over 100 projects on his record label and currently produces themed dj parties including the 9 year running Prince and Michael Experience.
